2 Meals to Dine-In for under 30 with Tip

It probably feels like you’re breaking the bank everytime you go out. I know it feels like that for me and I’ve made it a mission to support local as much as I can. So, here are the two meals that I would purchase when we want to save money while also going out. Yes, it’s possible to get a good meal in for two. If you can afford more, I’d also try some of their other choices and split the meals so you can taste of several menu options.

1.) The Dirty Bird Papa Bird Basket + a Half order Appetizer

I know this is only one meal plus a half of an appetizer, however the portions are large as it’s not your typical chicken strip as they are double to triple the size of most strips and you get 7! Their breading is home-made and any of their sauces are on-point. But I will have to warn you, you might want to go with a full order of mushrooms or onion rings and order more on their menu. - 124 S. Maple Street, Sycamore

2.) DeKalb Fresh Market Taqueria

Not many probably are aware about this place, because it’s inside DeKalb Fresh Market’s grocery store. My favorite taco is the chorizo (Mexican sausage). I eat most of my tacos authentic with a corn tortilla, cilantro, onions, and pico de gallo. They also have a habanero sauce which I enjoy. The other options are carne asada (beef), Pollo (chicken), and on Saturday’s they are offering specials that are not on their weekday menu. What’s best is their portions are reasonable as well as their prices- 615 Oak Street, DeKalb
